Northstar Link Holiday Schedule 2017

ST. CLOUD (12/7/17) — Northstar Link Route 887  will not operate on  Christmas Day, Dec. 25 and New Year’s Day, Jan. 1.

Route 887 will operate as regularly scheduled on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24 and New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31. Route 887V will run as scheduled for the Vikings game on Dec. 31.

Northstar Link closed on Thanksgiving, modified service Friday After Thanksgiving

ST. CLOUD (11/9/17)— Northstar Link Commuter Bus (Route 887) and Northstar Commuter Rail train (Route 888)  will not operate on the Thanksgiving holiday and will run a modified schedule for the Friday after Thanksgiving, Nov. 24.  Friday mid-day bus service to Minneapolis provided by Northstar Link Route 887F will not operate on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Regular fares apply for all routes.

On Friday, Nov. 24, a southbound Route 887 bus will depart the Metro Bus Transit Center at 3:50, 5:15, 6:15 and 11:50 am, as well as 1:45 and 3:45 pm. The northbound Route 887 bus will depart the Big Lake Northstar Station at 5:00, 6:20, and 7:20 am, as well as 1:05, 2:55 and 4:50 pm. Northstar Link Friday after Thanksgiving Schedule 2017

 

Northstar Link to service all Vikings home games in 2017

ST. CLOUD (8/22/17) – Northstar Commuter Rail and Northstar Link Commuter Bus will provide service for all Minnesota Vikings home games, starting with the pre-season game on August 27. Northstar Link bus rides cost $2.00 one-way. Northstar Line train fares are paid separately.

To the game
The Northstar Link commuter bus service from St. Cloud and Becker is timed to connect with Northstar commuter train at Big Lake Station. The commuter train takes riders from Big Lake, Elk River, Ramsey, Anoka, Coon Rapids and Fridley to Target Field Station. At Target Field Station, riders can connect with METRO Blue or Green light rail lines. The METRO provides fast, frequent service straight to U.S. Bank Stadium. Transfers from the Northstar train to the METRO trains are free. U.S. Bank Stadium is the fourth stop on either line, about a 7 minute ride.

After the game
For the return trip, board any westbound METRO Blue or Green line train back to Target Station. Enter through the glass doors at Target Field Station and take the escalator to the lower level to board the Northstar train.

The Northstar train is scheduled to depart at either the scheduled departure times or one hour after the end of the game. Fans will be able to take the train to Big Lake where the bus will be waiting to bring them back to Becker or St. Cloud.

Northstar to serve all home MN Twins baseball games, 2017

ST. CLOUD (3/24/17) – Northstar Commuter Rail and Northstar Link Commuter Bus will provide service for all Minnesota Twins baseball home games at Target Field, starting with the home opener on April 3.

Northstar Link bus service from St. Cloud and Becker is timed to connect with Northstar Line trains at the Big Lake Station. After the game, at either the scheduled departure times or 30 minutes after the end of the game, fans will be able to board the train to Big Lake where the bus will be waiting to bring them back to Becker or St. Cloud. The northbound train will leave Target Field 30 minutes after fireworks show (instead of last out) on June 16; July 3, 7 & 21; and Aug 4 & 18.

Northstar Link bus rides cost $2.00 one-way. Northstar Line train fares are paid separately. Bus schedules are available on Northstar buses and trains as well as online.

Holiday Service Schedule 2016

ST. CLOUD (11/16/16)— Northstar Link Commuter Bus will operate a holiday schedule based on the Northstar Commuter Rail train schedule. This results in no bus service for Thanksgiving and Christmas Day holidays, modified schedules for the Friday after Thanksgiving and the day after Christmas, and only Vikings service for New Year’s Day on Route 887V. Route 887F will not operate on Nov. 25, the Friday after Thanksgiving. See the schedules below for the Route 887 modified service days Nov. 25 and Dec. 26 and the schedule for the 887V service for Jan. 1, 2017. Regular fares apply for all routes.

887V Schedule for January 1, 2017

No Northstar service Thanksgiving Day, reduced service Friday after Thanksgiving (2016)

ST. CLOUD —The Northstar Link route 887 will not operate on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24. Northstar Link will run a modified schedule on the Friday after Thanksgiving, Nov. 25 in conjunction with Northstar rail service.  There is no 887F service on Nov. 25. See schedule below for Nov. 25 schedule.

Nov. 25 Reduced Route 887 Schedule
Southbound: Departs St. Cloud Metro Bus Transit Center at 3:50, 5:15, and 6:15 am; 12:00, 1:45, and 3:45 pm.

Northbound: Departs Big Lake Station at 5:00, 6:20, and 7:20 am; 1:05, 2:50, and 4:50 pm.

Nov. 25 Route 887F Alternative
Southbound: Use any Route 887 service to train station in Big Lake. Ride train to Northstar Station. Closest to the 887F timeframe is the bus that departs the Metro Bus Transit Center at 12:00, SCSU at 12:10 and Northstar Link Park and Ride Lot at 12:20 pm to Big Lake. It meets the 1:03 pm Southbound 888 Northstar train  to Minneapolis an serves all Northstar Stations.

Northbound: Use the 2:00 pm 888 Northstar train from Target Field station to Big Lake, where it meets the 2:55 pm Northstar Link bus to St. Cloud.

Fares: The cost to ride Northstar Commuter Bus between St. Cloud and Becker is $2/person/way, between Becker and Big Lake is $1/person/way. A roundtrip ticket for Northstar Rail train is $10.50 for travel between Big Lake and Target Field Station. Families can save money by purchasing a Family Pass online ahead of time. Round trip Northstar Passes (individual and family) provide unlimited rides on buses and light rail on the date shown on the pass. Up to three children ages 5 and under may ride free on all both Northstar services.
