Northstar Link Service Discontinued

Effective December 31, 2025, Northstar Link has discontinued service and will no longer operate.

The Northstar Link bus service was developed to provide the connection between the Northstar Commuter Rail service in Big Lake and the St. Cloud area. In November 2009, Metro Bus began operation of the Northstar Link Route 887 service under contract with the Northstar Corridor Development Authority (NCDA).

Given the original intent of the Northstar Link service, the counties that fund it, in consultation with Metro Bus leadership, determined they were not willing to fund service to Big Lake if there was no connection to the Twin Cities.
